Raptor Rehabilitation Kenya
Silent Heroes Foundation will work to provide veterinary and nursing supplies to this unique grassroots raptor rehabilitation facility in central Kenya.
Raptor Rehabilitation Kenya (RRK) is an organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and conservation of raptors native to Kenya and east Africa. The center is run by Zoe Gibbs, a musculoskeletal physiologist by training with an extensive background and passion for raptor rehabilitation. RRK is a newly formed organization and has a great need for a variety of veterinary supplies related to the rehabilitation of injured birds. Working together with the Kenya Wildlife Services, as well as with the ornithological department at the Museums of Kenya, Zoe strives to provide a center for raptors injured due to human conflict, habitat loss, and natural causes. In 2010 Zoe raised, rehabilitated, and released 30 raptors ranging from falcons and hawks to eagles and owls, and she anticipates even more in the coming year.
