SHF Veterinary Student Externship Program in Africa

Girl with chimp as part of our veterinary students externships.Silent Heroes Foundation helps facilitate externships at several of our supported projects for veterinary students around the world. We offer a variety of experiences for the veterinary student, including programs for clinical work, wildlife fieldwork, laboratory, and veterinary research. The externship program in Africa is a great way to utilize your veterinary skills in a unique and challenging setting, while gaining valuable and exciting experience in international veterinary medicine.

SHF does not provide funding for veterinary students, although we do allow students to fundraise for their opportunity through our Foundation (contact Dr. Adams for details). We facilitate the opportunity and may provide support in terms of supplies needed for research or clinical work. In addition to helping organize your opportunity, Dr. Adams will work as a mentor to assist you with your work abroad and to make sure you have a meaningful experience.
