Who Are The Silent Heroes?
Silent Heroes are the veterinarians, rangers, and conservationists working to protect animal health in Africa, the physicians who work to better human health, as well as the people who donate their supplies, money, and other resources to the Foundation. We all want to help protect these beautiful animals, and the lack of need for recognition is what makes those who help in our cause "Silent Heroes."
Our History
Silent Heroes Foundation was formed through the partnership of friends and colleagues Dr. Hayley Adams and Dr. Innocent Rwego. The two met while conducting research on mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda. Both are enthusiastic conservationists, with a goal to improve the quality of life for wildlife and endangered species in Africa. They both have worked with a variety of wildlife such as great apes, rhinos, and lions. Both veterinarians also specialize in infectious and zoonotic disease research. Silent Heroes aids veterinarians, physicians, and rangers in Africa by supplying them with needed resources, and provides adjunct training for Park rangers and fellow conservationists.
